RUN FOR A CURE!

Every 90 minutes someone is diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease, a devastating neuromuscular condition for which there is no known cause or cure. The Greater Chicago Chapter of the ALS Association provides support and resources for ALS patients, their families, and caregivers living in the Greater Chicago area.

We ask you to put your best foot forward and participate in our charity marathon program through the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. After you register yourself for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon you will then be able to raise money for The ALS Association. It is a great way to honor someone living with ALS or memorialize those who have lost their fight to Lou Gehrig's disease.

Runners this year will have a minimum fundraising goal of $500—encouraging friends, relatives, and employers to sponsor them in the race. In exchange we will offer you the following benefits:

Chi_Marathon09_CARA

  • 18 week training program with CARA (Chicago Area Runners Association)
  • 1 year CARA membership which includes discounts on race fees.
  • Monthly email reminders and updates
  • CARA and ALSA newsletter highlights and updates
  • Personal fundraising webpage
  • Running singlet for race day

To support your efforts, we will give you your own personal fundraising webpage where you can tell your story, upload photos and view your fundraising progress.

By making the decision to make a difference when running this year’s marathon and raising money to continue to support patient services, advocacy and awareness you will be helping in the fight against Lou Gehrig’s disease!
